Every man’s Ms. Right, Chae Yeon, was multitasking before The Junior Herald sat down with her for an interview. First she rehearsed for KMTV’s “Music Tank.” Then SBS taped her doing yoga.

Junior Herald (JH): You’re going to wrap up your schedule soon. How do you feel?
Chae: Even though I’m a new singer in the entertainment business, many people know who I am. I have appeared on other people’s TV shows. I am very grateful, but I regret that I didn’t concentrate more on my own career.
JH: Your fans call you by two different nicknames. “Sexy Chae Yeon” or “White Angel Chae Yeon.” Which one do you prefer?
Chae: You know what? I never thought I was sexy before my debut. I used to wear baggy T-shirts and jeans. After my debut, I discovered I had another identity. That’s why I prefer the first nickname, “Sexy Chae Yeon.”
JH: What are you most concerned about these days?
Chae: I’m worried that I will lag behind the new talent when I come back with my second album. So I feel a lot of pressure to make my second album really good.
JH: When do you feel pretty and when do you feel ugly?
Chae: I’m a very simple person. So when my makeup is perfect, I think I’m pretty. When my makeup is not that good, I feel like I look ugly.
JH: Then how do you feel about your makeup today?
Chae: Just OK because I cried so much last night. I’m a co-host for one of MBC’s programs. Yesterday, it featured a story about a mother and a daughter. So today my face is puffy from crying.
JH: You’ve got a bunch of male fans. Can you tell us about any unique presents you’ve gotten?
Chae: I don’t know why but many male fans send me their photos. Maybe they want me to remember them.
JH: Is there any male singer with whom you want to do a duet?
Chae: Hmm ... I think Lee Jeong has a good voice. And I am close with him because we are from the same management company.
JH: Are you happy now?
Chae: Of course.
